Today, Kylie Jenner attended the Schiaparelli spring 2023 presentation in quite the bombshell look. The social media star, her hair swept up in a towering updo, opted for a custom royal blue stretch velvet strapless dress with diving décolletage. Around her neck, she wore a velvet ribbon choker with an anatomical heart pendant in black enamel adorned with rhinestones. Call it Jenner’s Disney villain era: incredibly sensual and severe.
The look is a far cry from Jenner’s standard get-ups. Sure, we’ve seen the cosmetics founder opt for body-skimming gowns but this look felt more alternatively elegant for the queen of Calabasas. The hairstyle added a feeling of evening elevation, while the bold choker necklace evoked a regal attitude (and maybe a little kitsch).
Schiaparelli, a House anchored in surrealism, has hit a fever pitch among celebrities since artistic director Daniel Roseberry took the helm in 2019. Since then, Beyoncé wore a custom black gathered leather dress–complete with trompe l’oeil gold fingernails!—to accept her Grammy in 2021. That same year, Lady Gaga also donned a custom look, along with a gilded brass dove brooch, for President Joe Biden’s inauguration. Other fans of Schiap include Bella Hadid, Adele, and Hunter Schafer. Now, Jenner has ever-so-stylishly joined the list.
