Alice Springs business owner Darren Clarke says NT Chief Minister Natasha Fyles’ visit is “a little parade for the cameras” as the state government visits the town this week and discusses alcohol ban ballots.
“To hold ballots in town camps, what that does is … gets people on the electoral roll for next year’s election,” Mr Clarke told Sky News Australia.
“You’ve got to actually read further into this – it’s very smart politics by the Labor party here.
“I am disgusted in the bureaucrats that toe the line here in the Northern Territory – and don’t worry guys, hang in there, you’ll get a pay rise before the next election next year.
“Take the politics … out of this, put some morals into this.
“You’ll come down here today and put on a little parade for the cameras – we’ve had enough and we’ve seen through you.”
