The Democratic and Republican candidates in Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District, one of the most competitive House races in the country, are in a dead heat, according to a Christopher Newport University Wason Center survey released Friday.Democratic Rep. An 85-year-old woman has been rescued by police after her vehicle was swept off a flooded causeway on the Fraser Coast.Officers walked into flooded waters to rescue the elderly driver as her car was stuck in between a tree and pulled the woman out of the back driver’s side door, fitting her with a life jacket.
