Iran on Friday urged its citizens in Ukraine to leave the country and warned against travel to the war-torn nation one day after the U.S. accused Tehran of aiding Russia’s war effort. “Due to the military escalation in Ukraine, all Iranians are strongly advised to refrain from traveling to Ukraine. A cadre of bipartisan lawmakers traveled to Ukraine this week to meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy amid reports that Iran has begun arming Russia with military drones. Lawmakers from the House Intelligence Committee met with Zelenskyy on Thursday to discuss the war and ongoing aid efforts. The U.S. budget deficit was sliced in half for fiscal 2022, the biggest drop in history following two years of huge Covid-related spending.Though still large in historical terms, the budget shortfall declined to $1.375 trillion, compared to the 2021 deficit of $2.776 trillion.The decline would have been steeper had it not been for the Biden administration’s student loan forgiveness program. Shares of Twitter dropped as much as 8% in pre-market trading Friday as investors braced for some last-minute uncertainty around Elon Musk’s $44 billion deal to buy the company.
