CNN  —  Christina Bobb – the Trump attorney who signed a letter earlier this year inaccurately attesting that all classified material had been returned following a “diligent search” of Mar-a-Lago – spoke with federal investigators in recent days, according to a person familiar with the matter. Bobb, who is still representing former President Donald Trump in other matters and was on location when the FBI searched his property in August, is not deeply involved in the Mar-a-Lago case, the person said. NBC News was first to report that Bobb spoke with investigators. There is an ongoing Justice Department investigation into…

Anti-poverty advocates say the one-time inflation aid payments announced by provinces including Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador are a missed opportunity to help those most in need. Doug Pawson, the executive director of Newfoundland-based anti-poverty group End Homelessness St. John’s, says that while every dollar handed out helps those living in poverty, the one-off payments don’t address people’s enduring needs. The Newfoundland and Labrador government announced last week it will send $500 cheques to all residents who made less than $100,000 last year, with those earning up to $125,000 getting smaller cheques.Dan Meades, the provincial co-ordinator of the Transition House Association…

Hello readers! The past few weeks in the UK have been a rollercoaster ride, economically. It’s not often that a “mini” Budget leads to the mortgage market melting down and the Bank of England having to step in with a £65bn measure to calm markets. (Owen Walker, Emma Dunkley and I got the inside view from lenders last week).I’ve also been looking at the small-to-medium enterprise market, an often underloved sector in terms of media attention (except when things are going very wrong, such as earlier in the year when there were fears of rising energy costs shutting down struggling pubs).…

Hungary has said it will help build a pipeline to transport Russian crude to Serbia in an effort to ensure continued oil supply to Belgrade despite EU sanctions.Serbia gets its oil supply mainly via Croatia and the Adriatic Sea — a link that will be severed when the EU enforces a ban on Russian seaborne crude from December. So much for a sleepy Columbus Day on Wall Street. Dimon made the comments in an exclusive interview with CNBC that aired Monday. “You can’t talk about the economy without talking about stuff in the future…and this is serious stuff,” Dimon said in the CNBC interview.
