WASHINGTON — The Pentagon formally dropped its Covid-19 vaccination mandate Tuesday, but a new memo signed by Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin also gives commanders some discretion in how or whether to deploy troops who are not vaccinated.Austin’s memo has been widely anticipated ever since legislation signed into law on Dec. 23 gave him 30 days to rescind the mandate. CNN — It won’t be as “easy” as President Joe Biden hopes to quell the furor over classified documents unearthed in his post-vice presidential office. Republicans are already making sure of that, belatedly voicing concern over secret material discovered outside the White House – after energetically dismissing ex-President Donald Trump’s far greater transgressions. The disclosures couldn’t have come at a worse time for Biden. Members of the new Republican House majority are falling over one another for a spot on a new committee set up to investigate whether the US government has been politically “weaponized” by Democrats. The mission is…

At the time, a source exclusively revealed to Us Weekly that the pair were dating, adding, “It’s still very new.” Five months later, the actor and the model reached a major milestone when they made their red carpet debut at the 2022 Met Gala. Gerber celebrated the Gilded Age theme with an Alexander…

Paramedics, call handlers, drivers and technicians from the Unison and GMB unions are taking part in staggered strikes across a 24-hour period. None of the workers will strike for longer than 12 hours, with call handlers expected to walk out for six-hour periods. However, health leaders have warned that there will be additional stress on the system owing to this being a larger strike than one held in December. Patients can expect waits for 999 and 111 calls to…
SAN DIEGO — In a La Niña year, usually associated with dry and warm weather, California has been displaying elements of El Niño: Big waves, snowcapped mountains and flooded coastal streets suitable for boards and dinghies. Some earth scientists have been searching for an answer to explain why the usually opposite-behaving weather phenomena appear to have switched roles, with global warming emerging as a possible factor.Jin-Yi Yu, a University of California, Irvine, atmospheric scientist, said Tuesday that climate change may have an impact on how long each phenomenon lasts, which in the last 25 years has often been for back-to-back years.…
