The 6-year-old boy accused of shooting his Virginia teacher Friday with a gun he took from home is unlikely to be charged, but his parents could be criminally culpable depending on if they properly secured the weapon, experts said. The student’s mother legally purchased the gun used in the shooting, according to Newport News police, but officials haven’t specified how the boy got a hold of it or if it was safely secured. Virginia, unlike Massachusetts and Oregon, doesn’t have a law that specifies how to secure guns in a home, said Allison Anderman, senior counsel and director of local policy at…
The Kentucky Wildcats announced Tuesday that Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator Liam Coen has accepted the same role at the university while also being named quarterbacks coach. That leaves Sean McVay, head coach of the Rams, needing someone to coordinate his offense. But there’s no certainty McVay will be returning next season to lead the Rams. ESPN reports McVay is allowing his entire coaching staff to pursue other jobs because he doesn’t want his uncertainty about his future to hurt them. As of now, it’s unknown whether any coach is taking up McVay on that offer to look elsewhere for employment. McVay captured…

After taking a hiatus last year, the Golden Globes returned tonight in Beverly Hills, California to honor the year’s best film and television performances. Before the ceremony kicked off, however, Hollywood’s A-listers came out in droves on the red carpet. The stars celebrated the start of awards season with a combination of traditional glamour and fresh, innovative silhouettes. The more feminine styles were finished with eye-popping hues, sequins, or embellishments. Even considering the absence of its former creative director, Alessandro Michele, Gucci made a sizable impact on the red carpet. Michelle Williams’s frothy white dress with mounds of ruffles struck the…
Awards season has officially begun! This evening’s 80th annual Golden Globe Awards saw a medley of standout film and television stars—a genre distinction which means less and less as of late—hit the red carpet, providing a peek at the celebratory glamour to come. Anya Taylor-Joy shook out her signature peroxide lengths, her hair moment furthered, somehow, by date and husband Malcolm McRae’s flawless mop top. Bailey Bass’s slicked and twisted updo pulled focus to delicate details—stylized edges, power brows—while Ana de Armas’s cat-eye liner coupled with a razor-sharp center part and long, ironed layers in an echo of her structural Louis…

What is the quickest way to turn heads on the red carpet? Confidence, of course—and a ponytail primed for a similar sort of swivel and swing. To balance her aubergine velvet Valentino, Selena Gomez opted for a high-slung ponytail that volleyed youthful buoyancy and full-tilt glamour, an ideal combination for the onset of awards season. Rather than her oft-worn slicked tie-back, the Only Murders in the Building nominee and hairstylist Marissa Marino went with a ponytail positioned nearly atop her head, the style offering Gomez’s look a pretty, playful air. A slight lift at the crown ensured the moment felt red…
