There’s no shame against a full sequin gown or embellished party suit, but there’s more than one way to dazzle this holiday season. Leave the shimmer and shine to your accessories this December, and keep your party wear on the more understated side for a more minimalist look. Of course, we won’t rule sparkle out completely; take Altuzarra’s maxi skirt and turtleneck shirt set as the prime example. A deep gold lurex is striking yet still subtle. One rule of thumb to keep in mind is following the expected color palette of the minimalist wardrobe: Neutrals, ivories, and of course, black.…

Jewelry is, naturally, central to Harris’s personal style. Just as she adds a bit of magic into everyday accessories, she’s figured out how to make her winter wardrobe equal parts sentimental, personal, and joyful. Describing herself as a “Kallmeyer, La Ligne kind of gal,” (read: a woman equipped with elevated classics), Harris explains that, for winter, she keeps to a capsule wardrobe. “One of the hard truths I learned in New York is that sweaters take a lot of space, and I don’t have a lot of space,” she laughs. To accentuate her edited-down wardrobe, Harris uses her arsenal of fragrances.…
Golden State Warriors forward Anthony Lamb was accused of raping another student while attending the University of Vermont in 2019 in a civil lawsuit filed against the university on Tuesday, which claims that school officials showed “deliberate indifference” and mishandling of sexual assault complaints, according to multiple reports. Lamb, who is not named as a defendant in the lawsuit, was alleged to have raped the woman at an off-campus party in 2019 – an incident, along with two others, that she reported to the school’s Title IX office, SF Gate reported Thursday. In a statement to the outlet, the Warriors said…
The Biden administration will spend $1 million next year to fund a study on how to train drug addicts to distribute COVID-19 rapid tests to other drug addicts. The project summary emphasizes that “people who inject drugs” are especially vulnerable to the outbreak of COVID-19 due to “structural disadvantage, health vulnerabilities, and stigmatization that prevents adequate access to medical care.” This issue will be addressed through a “facilitation of rapid testing by people who inject drugs (PWID) via a supported employment program that trains PWID as peer health workers.”BOSTON’S CRACK PIPE DISTRIBUTION STRATEGY SPARKS BACKLASH AS ‘METHADONE MILE’ CRISIS PERSISTS The…
The past decade has been a bit of a seminar on different market conditions for US Treasuries. We’ve had 1) good market liquidity and function in the zero-rates era, 2) good liquidity and dysfunction during the flash rally, and 3) illiquidity and dysfunction around the Covid-19 shutdowns and reopenings. It now looks like 2022 has brought a new combination: Illiquidity paired with decent market function. JPMorgan’s rates strategists point out in a note this week that market depth has declined significantly in the past year: . . . market depth has declined about 60% over the last year and is sitting at levels…
