The image was described in a lawsuit filed by the family against the Moab City Police Department in Utah district court in November. The Mets’ first official workout of spring training will be next Wednesday, but shortly thereafter will come the inevitable feel of the team’s complex in Port St. Lucie, Fla., turning into something of a ghost town.  With as many as 12 Mets players headed to the World Baseball Classic, which will take place from March 8-21, manager Buck Showalter is bracing for a potentially abbreviated look at the team he plans to deploy on Opening Day.  “We are excited and proud that they are going, but they can’t come back and be way behind,” Showalter said Tuesday in Manhattan at…

TOKYO: Japan is arranging to relax border control measures for visitors from China as early as this month, Japanese broadcaster FNN reported on Wednesday (Feb 8). South Korea’s prime minister later last month suggested its COVID-19 curbs on travellers from China could be lifted earlier…

CNN  —  President Joe Biden delivered his second State of the Union address on Tuesday. Here is a fact check of some of the claims from Biden: Biden said, “In the last two years, my administration has cut the deficit by more than $1.7 trillion – the largest deficit reduction in American history.” Facts First: Biden’s boast leaves out important context. It is true that the federal deficit fell by $1.7 trillion under Biden in the 2021 and 2022 fiscal years, including a record $1.4 trillion drop in 2022 – but it is highly questionable how much credit Biden deserves…

Five members of Jehovah’s Witness congregations in Pennsylvania were indicted by a grand jury on various child sex abuse charges Monday, officials announced. Pennsylvania Acting Attorney General Michelle Henry said that the five men preyed on young members of their own families and congregations.  “The details of these crimes are sad and disturbing, facts which are made even more abhorrent because the defendants used their faith communities or their own families to gain access to victims,” Henry said in a statement on Monday.  Marc Brown, a 65-year-old member of a Jehovah’s Witness congregation in Allegheny County, allegedly sexually assaulted two girls…
