Aaron Judge’s new Yankees contract — agreed to Wednesday morning for nine years and $360 million, or $40 million per year — is the largest average annual value for a position player in MLB history. Only Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander, who both inked deals with Steve Cohen’s Mets in the past 12 months, have signed larger AAV contracts in MLB history — meaning the top three will all play in New York this year. Previously, the record for a non-pitcher was set by Mike Trout, who signed a 12-year, $426 million pact with the Angels in 2019. That equates…

Inevitably, this brings us to Stranger Things Season 4’s most infamous internet takeaway: The highly substitutable meme of Will looking away his friend Mike, crying into a car window. It is everywhere. Even if you don’t know Stranger Things, you’ve seen it if you’re online. “I was just speaking with our director about this. I can’t understand why it became so viral. He said, ‘I think it’s because it perfectly represents the feeling of suffering in silence. Of a quiet pain.’ I think a lot of people can relate to that.”Schnapp is largely mum on Stranger Things spoilers–including the true reason…

Since that very first Gaultier acquisition, I’ve started broadening my search for even more vintage items that have “Native-inspired” elements on them, in order to reclaim the appropriation (I zeroed in on vintage because I do not want to give money directly to those who are currently making these insensitive designs).
