NASA has announced a 16-member team that will begin studying “unidentified aerial phenomena” (UAP) on Monday and release its findings to the public in mid-2023.The independent study team will spend nine months examining the observations of events in the sky that cannot be identified as aircraft or as known natural phenomena to hopefully shed light on their origin.NASA said the study will focus solely on unclassified data.”Exploring the unknown in space and the atmosphere is at the heart of who we are at NASA,” said Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator of the Science Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters in Washington. “Understanding…
I was wasting time on YouTube the other day, aimlessly hopping from video recommendation to video recommendation. Eventually, I landed on a Beyoncé interview from early 2013. The singer, wearing a body-hugging red dress, is chatting at a press conference ahead of her iconic Super Bowl Halftime show. The video is only a decade old but, somehow, perfectly encapsulates how much has changed since then. Here is Beyoncé conducting a filmed sit-down interview, which rarely happens nowadays. And she’s addressing the allegations she lip-synced at the second inauguration of former President Barack Obama. But perhaps the most nostalgic element of…
When Black Panther: Wakanda Forever makes its big debut next month, Lupita Nyong’o—who plays Nakia, a Wakandan spy—will need plenty of gowns and jewelry for her various red carpet premieres. So, you could say her new role as De Beers’ first global ambassador is perfectly timed. Nyong’o stars in the fine jewelry label’s new “Where It Begins” campaign, releasing today. The actor says she was drawn to working with the brand specifically for its Building Forever project, which has goals to engage 10,000 girls in STEM, support 10,000 women entrepreneurs, and to invest at least $10 million across southern Africa by…

Organoids — tissue cultures that roughly replicate the functions of an organ — allow researchers to observe how cells behave in tissues in vitro, in the lab. This is particularly helpful when it comes to investigating the brain and the conditions that affect it. But what are some of the ethical challenges? One of the greatest breakthroughs that have occurred in the past decade has been the ability to influence adult stem cells to differentiate to create certain cell types. After conception, the cells that make up an embryo are totipotent, and can turn into any cell type the body requires…

Among those companies are PepsiCo, Citigroup and Abbott Laboratories.”The environment clearly is still very inflationary with a lot of supply chain challenges across the industry,” said…
Goldman Sachs is urging the Federal Reserve to be patient in its quest to squash inflation. Even though inflation remains far too high, the investment bank says the Fed has already made “remarkable” progress in slowing the US economy and easing the concerning imbalance between supply and demand in the jobs market. This progress comes after the Fed has raised interest rates at the fastest pace in at least four decades, marked by three consecutive rate hikes of three-quarters of a percentage point. “Fiscal and monetary policy tightening has so far managed to slow demand growth sharply without accidentally overdoing…
