The Japanese drugmaker Eisai said Tuesday its experimental drug for Alzheimer’s disease helped slow cognitive decline in patients in the early stages of the illness.The company said that in a phase 3 clinical trial, the drug, called lecanemab, slowed cognitive decline by 27% after 18 months. Adults became less extroverted, open, agreeable and conscientious during the pandemic, a new study found.The results, published Wednesday in the journal PLOS One, showed that the degree of change was roughly equivalent to a decade’s worth of average personality changes. In a revealing essay, former TODAY co-anchor Katie Couric shared that she was diagnosed with stage 1A breast cancer this summer.
