A teenager is in a critical condition after a car left the road in regional New South Wales and slammed into a tree.
Emergency services were called to Coronation Drive, in Orange, 250 kilometres south-west of Sydney, shortly after midnight on Friday after reports of a car accident.
Fire and Rescue officers found a 17-year-old boy in the front passenger seat of a Subaru Impreza suffering from serious injuries.

“A 17-year-old boy, who was the front-seat passenger, was released by officers from Fire and Rescue NSW before being airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition,” a NSW Police statement read.
The male driver, also 17, and a 14-year-old girl seated in the back seat escaped injury.
The teen behind the wheel was taken to Orange Hospital for mandatory testing and is speaking with police about the crash.
Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit have examined the crime scene.
