Working with the Italian label, Swank and Phillips wanted a dress that was elegant “with a touch of playfulness,” Phillips says. “When Prada sent us a group of sketches to consider, I was immediately drawn to this look with the bow detail at the shoulder.” There were certain steps to make sure the look would be comfortable and practical for Swank to wear. “I worked closely with the Prada team in discussing fabrics and silhouettes that would be comfortable for Hilary,” Phillips adds. “We landed on this stunning cady emerald green fabric that perfectly highlights her growing bump, while not being constrictive.” Swank accessorized with Tiffany & Co.’s Archives earrings, Victoria bracelet, and Etoile ring.

Swank was equally drawn to how easy and effortless the frock was to wear. “I loved how classic and timeless it was—the simplicity and elegance,” she says. Swank says her approach to fashion has shifted overall during her pregnancy—including her approach to awards season dressing. “At the moment, it’s as much about comfort as it is style, so I was also grateful that my Prada dress afforded a lot of that on the way it draped,” Swank says. “It was amazingly comfortable!”
