A man was killed and another wounded in a shooting inside the lobby of an East Village public housing complex Thursday night, police said.
The gunfire broke out around 7:30 p.m. at the NYCHA’s Pedro Albizu Campos Plaza on East 12th Street, cops said.
A 21-year-old man was shot in the torso and the other male victim, 24, was hit in the left leg, according to the NYPD.
They were both taken to Bellevue Hospital, where the younger man was pronounced dead, authorities said. The surviving victim was listed in stable condition.
It’s unknown if the two men were targeted or how many suspects were involved, cops said.
It’s also unknown how many shots were fired, according to police.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
